![]() The Feast of St. John Paul II On October 21st, we celebrate the pope who inspired the world! Born Karol Wojtyla in Krakow, Pope John Paul II became the first-ever Polish pope. He came of age in the early 20th century and lived through both the Nazi and communist occupations of Poland. His resistance activities were cultural, operating an underground theater company and entering a secret seminary. Karol was ordained a priest in 1946 and later a bishop. He was elected pope in 1978. As pope, the interests that captured his heart as a young man continued -- his pastoral concern for young people, his philosophical emphasis on the human person, and his devotion to Mary and to the mercy of God. St. John Paul II, pray for us! Meet our Confirmation Students! This week: Max Brunner Hello, My name is Max Brunner, I live in Fifield, WI and have one sister. In my spare time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and hanging out with friends. I would like to be confirmed this year because all of my family members have been, and I would like to also. Oct 7 2018 Frank Runyeon’s performance of Sermon on the Mount last week was bigger than life. He gave us lots to think about; how society and the media tries to draw us away from the 10 Commandments and Beatitudes. Mr. Runyeon commented that he was very impressed with the behavior and attention our students showed him. Jayne Russell, once again you added your special touches to your piano playing. You make me smile. Grayson Kief, God gave you an amazing talent. Please continue to share your singing voice with the rest of the world when you start the next phase of your life. Mr. Tim Kief, thank you for sharing the follow spotlight with us. That light really added to the mood of Mr. Runyeon’s performance. John Miller and Trevor Tesmer, thanks for stepping in at a minute’s notice to run that spot light. CalendarOct. 4: all rel. ed. classes meet
